Education for photographers is so important; education for anyone is important. It helps you grow as a person, it teaches you something new, it challenges you, and completely makes you step outside of your comfort zone and create things that mean something. I believe it also helps ground you, focus you, which keeps you on track to where you want to be; both as a person and as a business owner.
Back in August of last year, I packed my bags and headed south of the border to Salt Lake City for a photography workshop. I found Emmy through Instagram, and immediately fell in love with her work and her personality! I kept up with her work for awhile, and noticed she hosted an amazing photography workshop which I saw some of the most beautiful photos come out of. I reached out to her for more info, and said ‘I am totally in for the next one you host!’ I was so excited to get on that plane and create some magic.
We stayed in the most beautiful big home in the mountains, learned so much about ourselves and our little businesses, and went home feeling amazing. Emmy was awesome in sharing so much of what she worked so hard for with us; we went through everything from shooting settings, lighting, and posing, to those little things that make running a business as smooth as it can be. I met some of the best ladies I ever have, and am so grateful to have kept in touch with them! We’re doing another workshop together this summer in Seattle, and I can’t wait to create unreal images there too.
Thank you so much for everything Em, you are such a gem and am so grateful to have learned from you this past summer! xo Lea
