Today was an amazing day for two reasons. One, I got to spend the afternoon doing what I love – making photos for an amazing family, Liza, James, Marcus and their gorgeous puppy, Rooney. And two, we picked out our Christmas tree!
I had my eyes on those beautiful Douglas firs the second I arrived at Albion, so after our shoot, I picked one to bring home with me. Choosing the tree was one of my best memories from when I was little. My parents would get my sister and I dressed in our heavy snow gear, pack the saw and some patience, and take us to Drysdales. I mostly remember the year my dad forgot the saw. Better believe that tree came home atop a silent car ride, except our muffled laughs we tried to hide from Dad – roots and all. I am truly thankful we are able to continue making amazing moments like this in our own home, and soon with our own littles.
As the mid afternoon sun went down, we found ourselves in the middle of the Christmas tree lot at Albion Orchards in Caledon. Jack Frost was out to play in the chilly breeze, but we kept ourselves warm between blankets, christmas ornaments, and running around with the mini pup. Lis + James, huge thank you’s for spending the afternoon with me, your photos make me feel all warm and cozy! Also, thank you Albion for a beautiful, natural holiday backdrop.
With love and cozies always,
