Every year after Halloween has passed, I look forward to December like a little babe looks forward to cookies, or naps. I love December, and everything that comes with it. Falling snow, hot chocolate, getting super cozy, classic holiday films, and of course, the big boy itself, Christmas. It seems everyone is in the best of moods. They seem warm, inviting, and most of all thankful, for everything and everyone around them.
This December was the first year I visited the Toronto Christmas Market in the Distillery District. If you love the holidays, this is the place dreams are made of! Picture the warm glow from the delicately strung cafe lights falling on the cobblestone alleys below your feet. Fire pits lighting your way to blue fir trees full of gleaming lights. All topped off with a steaming cup of hot chocolate to keep you warm, while you browse the dimly lit shops and their homemade delicacies. Oh MY goodness! Just typing that made me want to go back and visit again. The Distillery sits in the heart of busy downtown Toronto, yet this place takes you right away from the city for a few hours.
All of this, and I was blessed enough to document such a lovely couple who will be expecting their first baby girl this January. Maria + Farooq, you guys are truly awesome!! Thank you for spending your Sunday with me, and again I wish you a huge congratulations on your new beautiful family-to-be!
With love always,
