HUNTSVILLE WEDDING, HILLSIDE FARM, ONTARIO × MUSKOKA WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
These two are magic – there is so much love between Yvonne + Matt and I am so excited to share a bit of their story here. We ventured up to Huntsville at the end of this summer to document their day at Hillside Farm in Ontario’s beautiful cottage country. Getting to visit Norther Ontario is such an amazing feeling every time – it’s such a beautiful and peaceful place in all seasons, and I was lucky enough to be up there just as the trees were starting to turn their autumn shades. Yvonne & Matt hosted their intimate northern wedding at the tail end of September, and you could see all of those amazing colours starting to fill the trees with their warm glow. They had the most perfect end of summer day full of sun, and were married on the edge of the forest in front of their closest friends & family.
Most of the details from the day were hand made by Yvonne and her closest, which added so much meaning and love to their day; they had friends help out with invitations, music and even hand-tying her own bouquet the morning of their wedding. After the yummiest dinner, some amazing speeches and words filled with love, they ended the day cozied up under the stars. While standing outside under one of the clearest nights I’ve seen up there yet, you could hear the music from inside the barn carrying over the trees, and I was the happiest girl ever when I looked up and noticed you could see the Milky Way with your naked eye! Such an amazing ending to a week up north and an unreal wedding day, its such a rad feeling when everything aligns just right like that and you’re fully in that moment. Yvonne and Matt treated their loved ones to a wicked surprise as an ice cream truck arrived just before they kicked off the dancing with an amazing fire work show.
A bit about the sweet couple // Matt & Yvonne met while they were both away at school, and started out as good friends before they started to date. Matt proposed to Yvonne at the end of a Toronto Blue Jays game, before they both headed off to continue the amazing evening watching the Tragically Hip play one last concert. We photographed their engagement on the beautiful shores of Lake Muskoka, and got to explore Hardy Lake Provincial Park together. Check out the adventure here.
