Warm summer air, the sun on our faces, smell of the cool lake, and the sand between our toes. This just about wrapped this little Cottage Family Session on Georgian Bay, Ontario into one amazing little nutshell. I am so happy I met this sweet family, and from the moment I pulled into their long gravel driveway, I felt like they were old friends. I remember turning the corner onto the street that runs along the lake, my windows and sunroof open, music up. Feeling that warm end of summer fresh air on my face felt so incredibly good. The air carried the smell of bonfires from the cottagers settling in for the evening, and the sound of boats on the lake echoed off the water to my left. It felt like home and my body immediately relaxed.

We had the best afternoon playing with their three little babes on the shores of Georgian Bay; they roasted hotdogs, and listened to the sound of the crackling fire in the sand by the waters edge. We walked out along the long tin dock and sat on the end as they waved to the boaters going by; their sweet little new family of 5. The sun put on such a show through the clouds as it dipped below the furthest part of the lake, and we all stood there to watch, the waves gently rolling onto our feet. I had the best time documenting their story, and we even had a few moments for the most gorgeous photos of Mum and Dad while the babes sat down to enjoy the last of the sun! Documenting families holds such a special place in my heart, and I cannot wait to tell more family stories this year and make a ton more memories for those I get to photograph. <3
